Students at the Shkolnikova Academy are granted private lessons on their instrument, chamber music coachings, large string ensembles, masterclasses and performance opportunities in a convivial and nurturing atmosphere.

Unique to this Academy is the possibility for students to take lessons from all faculty members. Our international faculty is comprised of musicians who hold positions in the world's top orchestras and conservatories, allowing students to discover a variety of approaches that stem from the same tradition.  The Academy also offers workshops in orchestral repertoire, audition preparation, and alternative styles.

New to 2025 will be the Shkolnikova Academy String Orchestra led by renowned violinist and conductor, Dmitry Sitkovetsky. Just like Nelli Shkolnikova, Dmitry Sitkovetsky was a student of the legendary Yuri Yankelevich and students will have the privilege of benefitting from his prolific expertise as a multi-faceted musician.

This coming summer, we will also have the privilege of inviting guest artist, virtuoso violinist Roman Kim who will perform and teach a masterclass.

The academy is geared towards students aged 14 through 26, although younger students may be accepted upon individual consideration. Applications are open to violin, viola, and cello students and a limited number of advanced collaborative piano students.

Students will be provided room and board on the grounds of the magnificent Chateau de la Flocellière in the Vendée region of France.  Each student will have a minimum of 5 individual instrumental lessons, chamber music coachings, string ensembles, performance opportunities and recordings with a professional pianist, invitations to guest masterclasses and workshops and access to the amenities of the Chateau (swimming pool, games, etc.)
